Hi There!

I’m Henk Loorbach (“Loar-bagh”, with that crazy G sound that’s so unmistakably Dutch)

I’m a director and visual artist based in Amsterdam, working internationally. With a background in animation and compositing I feel comfortable shooting with in-camera techniques as well as CGI. I like to create visually dynamic and often quirky films in which both camera and cast are an integral part of the storytelling. 

Many moons ago I graduated from the school for visual arts as a mixed media artist. In my art I work in more or less the opposite way of making film, building mostly on found material, accidental composition and general randomness.

Besides making film and art, I brew coffee and ideas, jump to conclusions and make lists of lists to make sure I remember all of the above gets done.

My work has been described as weird, wonderful, slightly absurd with sometimes an unsettling undertone but always playful.
Sorta like life itself.
