The first Korales sculptures started from waste washed up on the beach. Anything that’s in the sea for a prolonged period of time will somehow get an organic feel to it. It wasn’t a very far stretch to compare the piles of fishnet wires, floaters, sea glass, nails and endless amounts of plastic in front of our home to a coral reef. Only one of the original Korales sculptures remains, most got eaten away by sun and salt. The ones you see here were made from other finds. I’m a street comber as much as I’m a beach comber after all.
